Dr Cristina Catasus

Dr. Catasus grew up in Gainesville, FL where she developed her love of horses, first riding hunter jumpers and later as a dressage rider and competitor.  She later moved to Jacksonville, FL where she attended Jacksonville University and graduated in 2003 with a BS in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Business Administration. While in Jacksonville, she volunteered with several different organizations including the Florida Fish & Wildlife’s Marine Mammal Rescue, the Jacksonville Zoo, and Horse Sense & Sensitivity, a therapeutic riding program for disabled children. After graduating from college, Dr. Catasus moved to Knoxville, TN and, in 2011, earned her DVM from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.  While in veterinary school, she had the privilege of serving as the president of the UTCVM student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and was selected to represent her university as a veterinary student at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games. Dr. Catasus loves all aspects of equestrian sports and plans to continue her pursuit of a career in sport horse medicine.
