Dr Kristina Janson
Professional Staff - Intern
Originally from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, Dr. Janson was introduced to horses by her aunt at an early age and riding quickly became the highlight of family visits to her grandparent’s farm. Her parents agreed to riding lessons in junior high and horses soon developed into a family hobby. Dr. Janson attended Iowa State University where she received a B.S. in Animal Science. While pursuing undergraduate studies she explored interests in veterinary medicine working at an equine breeding farm and small animal hospital. She went on to attend veterinary school at Iowa State where she was an active member of the student chapter of the AAEP. In the summer of 2009 she completed a Havemeyer summer veterinary research fellowship under Dr. Sue McDonnell at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. She earned her DVM in May of 2011 and was awarded the Society for Theriogenology’s Proficiency in Theriogenology award. After completing her internship Dr. Janson plans to pursue a residency in Theriogenology
