Hospital Staff

Beryl Scaggs is an operating room technician at the New Jersey Equine Clinic. She has lived in Manalapan Township for 44 years and has been a member of the NJEC team since 1979. In her spare time, she enjoys breeding and showing her golden retrievers. Beryl’s husband Tony is the electrician for the NJEC. Beryl.jpg

Karen Schultz grew up in East Brunswick, NJ and started riding at a young age. She competed in western speed classes. She joined the NJEC team in September 1998 working as an anesthesia technician. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Tom, riding their Harleys, taking photographs, and playing with the new addition to her family, her rescued dog, Lacey.

Elisabeth Leahy grew up in East Brunswick, NJ and joined the NJEC team in 2008.  She attended Rutgers University and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with an emphasis upon equine science and research.  Her interests include equine exercise physiology, anesthesia, and hyperbaric therapy.  In her spare time, she enjoys riding and training her three horses.

 

 

 

 

Sissi Vaun grew up following her mother’s sport of horseback riding. She graduated Centenary College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Studies. She worked for several ambulatory large animal vets before joining the team at the New Jersey Equine Clinic in July 2004. In her spare time, she enjoys her horse and being a Structural Integration practitioner.
